MEET YOUR CITY PEOPLE

Sam Roxas is a public-affairs strategist, community-builder, and civic hype-woman who knows that cities deserve better. She’s spent 15+ years working across all levels of government and the private sector — from the City hall to high-growth mobility and built-environment startups — helping pass laws, launch new services, win public trust, and turn big civic ideas into real-world progress. She brings her mix of government instincts, startup scrappiness, and deep love for local communities to City People — asking the questions regular folks are thinking, cheerleading the do-ers, and pushing for legit city solutions that actually work for the people who live in them. When she’s not running her firm, Common Good, or recording this pod, she’s in South LA with her partner Ryan, raising a family, fostering kiddos, urban homesteading, and plotting the next block-level revolution.

Warren Logan is the guy who looks at a street and immediately starts mentally redesigning it — and then actually works with cities to make it happen. He’s spent over a decade inside Bay Area government shaping transportation, land-use, and equity policy, including serving as Policy Director to Oakland’s mayor where he helped launch pandemic-era Slow Streets and pushed big ideas into real life. Before that, he led mobility policy in San Francisco and became one of those rare people who can translate between engineers, politicians, neighbors, and skeptics. Now, Warren brings his planning chops, civic optimism, and jazz hands to City People, helping us decode how cities work — and how to make them work better for everyone.
